I came across a dating-related article on facebook today, from Insider. The title of the article is: The reason you can't hold down a relationship may be because you're too hot. I was click-baited and resented the poorly argued article as usual. The article says quotes studies that showed negative relationship between physical attractiveness and relationship longevity, and suggests that being cute could deter one from having a long, stable relationship. I find articles like these that floats on social media are perfect examples of how people tend to use facts or statistics to create an agenda that they want to believe in. Yes, the social science showed correlation between hotness and relationship longevity, but isn't it kind of self-consoling to fit the statistics to what you want to believe in?
